All plants below were grown and propagated by our dear friend, Sam Estes of Leilani Hapu'u Nursery along the volcanic slopes of the Big Island. Many of his plants are seed grown, so they are one of a kind. All photos are the exact plant for sale, so only one of each is available. As true to our practice, we establish all Nepenthes in our greenhouse for 3-6 months before releasing them. Most of these plants will grow well in highland conditions, as we have at our nursery. However, they will grow equally well, if not better, in intermediate and lowland conditions. Grow them in a sunny south window, and keep the soil moist at all
times.
If a hybrid name is known, we will list it. In some situation, plants come to us unlabeled. When this occurs, we call the plants Poi Dog Nepenthes. Please keep in mind that Poi Dog Nepenthes is NOT a cultivar term. We use the term poi dog as someone might use the word mutt. Poi dog is essentially a reference to any Nepenthes hybrid of unknown parentage and is used specifically at our nursery. Other nurseries may have their own term for unlabeled Nepenthes hybrids.
Please check this page periodically as we will post new plants as they acclimate and develop new pitchers.
